The Master Fisherman Program has been known to our guests as the "Blue Hat" program for many years. In this program fishermen earn the coveted "blue hat."

Trophy Catch & Release Master Fisherman
This program was started in 2002.
This program rewards fishermen who catch and release their trophy fish.
They also earn an embroidered blue hat.

Rules for Master Fisherman Programs
1. Must be fishing out of Sunset Beach Resort.
2. Fish must be caught in Portage Lake.
3. Fish must be weighed at lodge by resort staff.
4. "Catch & Release" fish must be in good condition and must actually be
released from the dock after weighing.
5. Limit of one hat per person, per species, per stay.
