AREA  ATTRACTIONS

BEMIDJI (35 miles west) population 12,000, has a mall, Paul Bunyan Amusement Park, antiques, Bemidji Woolen Mills, grocery stores, & many restaurants. It is also home to the Paul Bunyan Playhouse and golfing.

BENA (4 miles east) population 100, has a cafe, bar,  Protestant church and post office.

CASS LAKE (15 miles west) population 1,700. It is home to the Palace Casino & Bingo Hall,  grocery, hardware and general merchandise stores. It has a tourist information center and museum and a golf course.

DEER RIVER (17 miles east) Here you will find bowling, golf, grocery stores, a bakery and White Oak Casino.

GRAND RAPIDS (35 miles east) population 7,900. Here you will find the Forest History Center, Blandin Paper, Showboat, Yellow Brick Road Museum about Judy Garland & many restaurants.

DEEP PORTAGE RESERVE is 50 miles south and LAKE SUPERIOR & the NORTH SHORE are about a 2 hour drive east. CANADIAN BORDER is a 2 hour drive north, The MISSISSIPPI RIVER HEADWATERS in ITASCA STATE PARK is 60 miles southwest of the resort.
